There are no bad hair days at the McKnight home!
Mindy McKnight has 5 daughters (and one lone son) and sent her girls to school with hair masterpieces. The girls’ friends, and friends’ mothers, wanted to know how to do the dos. So, Mindy McKnight began the Cute Girls Hairstyles blog to share requested “how- tos” for her daughters’ hairstyles.
One morning, Mindy made a couple of videos for friends demonstrating how to do trickier hair dos and posted the video on YouTube. She really didn’t think about the videos again.
YouTube contacted Mindy about six months later to see if she would host a YouTube channel because the videos had become extremely popular. The Cute Girls Hairstyles YouTube channel has 1.6 million subscribers and posts new hairstyle (more…)

What can you say about a man of God that would capture his personality in the purest way? President Boyd K. Packer, the president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (sometimes inadvertently called the “Mormon Church,”) is a man who is dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ in every aspect of his life. Anyone can see his virtue and light by looking up his name on the Internet, or occasionally by watching him on T.V., because of his role in The Church of Jesus Christ; but what is he like behind the scenes?
Boyd K. Packer’s Personal Endeavors
Like all great men and women who have made a positive mark on the world, President Packer has an outlet for personal growth and development. For some this may be fishing, others exercising, but for President Boyd K. Packer it has been carving and painting—with a particular emphasis on carving and painting birds. “‘Carving was restful to me. Sometimes when I got a little stressed or cranky, my wife would say, ‘Well, you had better start another carving,'” says President Packer. “Bird carving kept my hands busy and my mind free to think, ponder, and pray’” (see LDS Living).
Not only is President Packer a masterful (and very humble) artist, he is a teacher above reproach. He decided to become a teacher on a military assignment in Japan. He said:
I was on Ie Shima, a tiny speck of an island off the northwest coast of Okinawa. A few days earlier the island had been destroyed by a typhoon of such ferocious power that large ships went down and planes were blown off the island. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (often inadvertently referred to as the Mormon Church) is known for its preference for more conservative media. The booklet issued to the youth in The Church of Jesus Christ says, “Do not attend, view, or participate in anything that is vulgar, immoral, violent, or pornographic in any way. Do not participate in anything that presents immorality or violence as acceptable” (For the Strength of Youth, “Entertainment and Media”). KSL, a Utah TV station owned by The Church of Jesus Christ and an NBC affiliate, has adopted these same standards and will often choose not to air shows that are accepted and available on other networks. KSL Pulls “Hannibal” Show from Lineup
The KSL executives thought that the pilot for “Hannibal,” a prequel series to the 1991 film Silence of the Lambs, was borderline on acceptable violence, but decided to chance it. As the show progressed, however, the episodes became more and more graphic, drawing many complaints from TV viewers. The network decided to pull the program, replacing it with a network-produced news special. (more…)
